True "Individual" Surgical Instrument Tracking
SurgiDat™ Bringing Quality Management and data-collection to our core busines
Back to Top

A Victorian Health Care Facility has had to destroy 15,000 surgical Neurological instruments in an attempt to mitigate a possible CJD death of a surgical patient operated on twice in 2003. Further over 1000 patients may be at risk of contracting this infection. Patients have been notified of this of which the outcome is still pending.

The SurgiDat Applications suite would help mitigate such a large number of possible infections being notified as our systems actually track individual surgical instruments to the patient.

It is believed that the large number of patients is due to the lack of clear data of what instruments were used on the infected patient and subsequently other patients over the time.

What will the cost of this be to the health care system and when will it be appropriate to spend a relatively small amount of funds? This will ensure large numbers of patients can be protected from such a scatter gun approach to reporting on what they believe to be safe hospitals procedures.

August 19th & 20th 2004 - Queensland Australia SRACA Conference

Sterilizing Research Advisory Council of Australia (Qld)

SurgiDat™  Australian-made - Hervey Bay conference

MSDesign supported their local Service Provider Barcode-Qld, in Queensland at the Annual State Conference. Held at the Kondari Resort Hervey Bay. Three hours north of Brisbane.

A great time was had by all with many member s staying on to enjoy the beach, sun and whale watching.

MSDesign was again providing leading edge technology and education to the delegates.

Comments that were made by the delegates that visited our stand were

  • So easy to use software - you really don't need to know how to use a computer.
  • I love the visual verification of the trays, individual instruments and processing instructions - anyone could pack these trays without training using the SurgiDat System.
  • Tracking through to the patient with preference cards will save OT staff loads of time.
  • No one has ever explained individual tracking of instruments to me before. This makes so much sense to create the trays on the fly rather than this item always lives in this tray. Very exciting.
  • If you can do this with Surgidat products, it will lead the market in instrument tracking.

August 6th & 7th 2004 - Victoria SRACA Conference

Sterilizing Research Advisory Council of Australia (Vic)

MSDesign supported their local Service Provider Digital Medical Systems, in Victoria at the Annual State Conference. Held at the Hemisphere Conference Centre Moorabbin Vic.

This was a great time for the staff and managers of the CSSD and Operating Theatre departments, to view and comment on the SurgiDat product range.

We are very pleased to be seen as the company with the best, easiest to use and most advanced data-structure - leading the way for process control of individual instrument tracking, with a full system that incorporates both CSSD, Sterilizing equipment integration, Theatres and 2D Laser marking of surgical instruments.
