OVERVIEW
SSCATS® (Sterilization Services Costing and
Tracking System) is essentially an integrated
Production Recording and Costing system, which
has been developed to serve as a powerful tool
in the Hospital Sterilization environment, where
staff are required to accurately record the
production of sterile trays and their
distribution points while also recording
critical tracking and costing information.
SALES, INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT
Australian designed and made, SSCATS® is
nationally supported and distributed through
Medical Systems Design nation-wide Channel
Partner network. Both sales and installation are
managed through our qualified dealers, and
SSCATS® includes a Software Update Agreement
(SUA) which provides 12 months of Help Desk
Support and software updates to the program
throughout the year.
SSCATS® is a nationally distributed and
supported ASNZ4187 compliant Sterilization
Costing and Tracking program available
throughout Australia.
INDUSTRY COMPATABILITY – ASNZ4187 2003
SSCATS® supports the ASNZ4187 2003 standard and
allows for the recording of all critical
information required for compliance with this
standard.
In addition to this standard, SSCATS® provides
critical industry standard cost information,
essential for timely and effective management of
Sterilization Departments.
MULTIPLE COST CENTRES AND COST GROUPS
SSCATS® is able to maintain production and
distribution costing for multiple machines
producing sterile instruments for multiple
distribution points in small or large hospital
environments.
Almost un-limited numbers of
production/inventory items or instruments may be
entered into SSCATS® and support grouping of
costs against sub groups such as Consumables,
Stock, On Costs and Labour, with the ability for
additional user defined categories to be added.
SSCATS® can then easily produce those all
important Reports and Statistics for individual
cost centres, or as a summary of the production
and distribution costs and services for the
entire sterilization department.
TRAY AND INVENTORY DATABASES
Comprehensive facilities are available to record
important kit and inventory details. SSCATS®
provides the ability for each sterilization
department to tailor the software so that
database contents reflect the particular
hospital or department. Within this flexibility,
SSCATS® maintains the requirements of the
ASNZ4187 2003 standard, and qualifies much of
the data, ensuring accurate data entry and
reporting by your agency.
EQUIPMENT VALIDATION
SSCATS® provides easy-to-use windows based forms
for the complete entry of all validation tests
carried out on sterilization equipment, and
records this information for later reporting as
required by management or internal/external
audit
BAR CODE TECHNOLOGY
SSCATS ® fully support the use of scanners to
enter item codes thus minimizing keyboard skill
requirements for operators. This is a critical
time saver in training of staff who often does
not have high levels of computer skills. Bar
code technology with scanners can be used in
both the production and distribution processes
to significantly speed the recording of loads.
PRODUCTION RECORDING
SSCATS ® provides a powerful and easy-to-use
windows based data entry facility for recording
all necessary information for each load that is
passed through a machine, such as a sterilizer
or washer.
As the information for the load and its contents
are recorded, SSCATS® automatically records the
detailed and total cost of the contents of the
load.
All of this information is then available to
both staff and management in both printed and on
screen reports.
DISTRIBUTION RECORDING AND TRACKING
SSCATS® includes a one button press distribution
recording capability which automatically records
where the load was sent (what department/ward),
what the load contained, and how much the load
cost.
This powerful facility provides hospital
administrators with that all important
management capability to isolate cost and manage
budgets effectively.
This capability also included the critical
ability to track where each individual load, and
if required, each individual instrument/tray has
been distributed, the date it was distributed
and who used it. This provides sterilization
departments with critical tracking technology
for both internal and external audit purposes.
REPORTS AND STATISTICS
SSCATS® has a powerful set of analytical
reports, with reporting parameters that assist
operators in getting just the right detail for
the department or statistical reporting to
management and external auditors This is where
the real cost savings of SSCATS® take place, as
reports and statistics are easily generated by
the system, from the daily activities that are
entered into SSCATS®.
The Reports and Statistics are available in
either Detailed, Standard or Summary format.
SSCATS® open database format (ODBC) also allows
technical staff of a department to easily
produce specific agency related reports by using
popular reporting packages such as Microsoft's
Office suite, or Seagate's Crystal Report
Writer.
